Plot Summary:Mother struggles hard to treat Father who is old and suffering from glaucoma. Mother also still sells fried foods and crackers and sometimes becomes a maid: washing and ironing in the homes of rich people. She also continues to embrace his three daughters who are now adults and have their own lives. Euis becomes a widow with two children because her husband died. Euis works in a factory near her home as a laborer. While Cemara and her husband live well off but have not been blessed with children.
