Plot Summary:Mori no Youki no Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto, more commonly known as Lil' Bits in the United States was a fantasy themed anime series, and despite the fact it was aimed at children (airing on Nick Jr for several years in the early nineties) it was a fairly decent show (and happened to be my indoctrination at 4 years old into becoming an anime otaku ^_~) The show centered around inch high elf like creatures called (as the title suggests) Lil' Bits and their mis-adventures in and around the village of foot-hill forest. Each episode usually had some type of nature themed message.
タツノコプロが東急エージェンシーと連携して製作した、オリジナルのメルヘンTVアニメ。 森の中には、陽気な小人ファニット族が住んでいた。温厚で働き者の彼らだが、中でも男子のリルビット、女子のベルフィーは子供たちの人気者だ。孤児のベルフィーは、保護者の医師ドックリンと共同生活。ベルフィーの方が、お酒好きの先生のお母さん的な立場になることもある。リルビットは両親と妹との4人家族。だが父のロックが仲間にまじって働かず、一心にトンネルを掘り続けることが気がかりだった。とはいえベルフィーとリルビットも、普段は森の小さな探検隊。村長の息子ナポレオンたちを仲間に、今日も冒険を始めるのだった。監督は、スタジオぴえろ作品でも活躍の林政行。本作の美術はロウを溶かして塗るなど、特殊効果も試みた。そのおかげで独特の雰囲気があるものになっている。
